Geographical introduction
Location of the upazila: Chitalmari upazila is situated between 22 ৩ 33 'to 22 ° 41' north latitude and between 69 ৬ 48 'and 89 ° 57' east longitude. Chitalmari Upazila is bounded on the north by Madhumati river, on the south by Kachua and Bagerhat Sadar upazilas, on the east by Nazirpur upazila of Pirojpur district, on the west by Mollahat and Fakirhat upazilas.
Chitalmari upazila with seven unions. The upazila unions 1. Barbaria Union, II. Kalatala Union, 3. Hijla, 4. Shibpur Union, 5. Chitalmari Sadar 6. Charbaniyari, 6. Santoshpur. It is bounded on the north by Madhumati river, on the east by Nazirpur upazila of Pirojpur district, on the south by Kachua and Bagerhat Sadar upazilas and on the west by Mollahat upazila.
